La Parde Haut-Bailly
2015

2015 was the hottest year on record worldwide and ensured peace and serenity to all winegrowers. The two main characteristics of the 2015 vintage are: 1. Ideal weather: sufficient water reserves, a warm spring conducive to good bud break then flowering, and a warm, dry, summer which halted vegetative growth and enhanced ripening. 2. A beautiful, manicured vineyard until late autumn: ripe dark grapes contrasted with the vibrant green of the healthy leafage… an aesthetic appeal promising a tasting pleasure.

Produced from the same plots as Château Haut-Bailly and made in the exact same way, La Parde Haut-Bailly is the result of a rigorous selection. The blend is made of lots marked with freshness and fruit, backboned with a suave, elegant structure. Reflecting the virtues of the grand vin, La Parde can be enjoyed young, although it also has fine ageing potential.

The generosity of the Merlots is expressed fully in this La Parde Haut-Bailly 2015. Their softness combined with the elegant Cabernets Francs results in a fruity, well-balanced wine.

James Suckling, March 2016

Very minerally and salty with lots of dried fruit, currant and floral aromas and flavors. Full body, silky tannins and a fresh finish. Excellent second wine. 92 - 93

Wine Enthusiast, Roger Voss, April 2016

This wine has a fine, dense texture that is impressive with its smooth velvet character. The tannins are dark, solid and show a dry side to balance the beautiful juicy fruit. Although this is a second wine, it does have the structure of a wine more senior than that. 92 - 94

Vinous, Antonio Galloni, April 2016

A voluptuous, dark wine, the 2015 La Parde de Haut-Bailly offers notable depth. Black cherry, plum, graphite, leather and dark spices are all fused together. In 2015, La Parde is especially dense and inviting, which makes it a very serious second wine. 89 - 92
